CELSI at SEAM 2025: Labour Markets, Gender, and the Green Transition in Focus

Sept. 17, 2025
At this year’s Slovak Economic Association Meeting (SEAM 2025), hosted by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (11–12 September), CELSI researchers presented new findings on some of the most pressing challenges in economics and employment.
Our colleagues contributed research on:
- Jakub Barszcz (with Monika Martišková): the labour market consequences of deep decarbonization in high-emission industries.
- Martin Guzi: gender gaps in how students select their university majors.
- Tomáš Šarközi (with Martin Kahanec): job creation programmes for marginalised Roma in Slovakia.
- Martin Kahanec (with Kamila Borseková and Samuel Korony): convergence dynamics in EU labour markets through decision tree analysis.
SEAM offered not only a platform to present our work but also a chance to connect with the Slovak and international economics community, exchange perspectives, and highlight CELSI’s role in bridging research with policy.
We’re proud to be part of discussions shaping the future of labour and inclusion in Slovakia and beyond.
